Water Heater Installation in Metairie
Jefferson Parish Water Heater Pros — Water Heater Installation in Metairie
This is a full swap-out: your old tank comes out and a new one goes in, sized and connected to match your house. We do this when a tank is failing, past its years, or can't keep up with the household anymore.
What water heater installation involves
- Sizing and selection: We measure household hot water use and pick a tank size and recovery rate that matches it, gas or electric to match what you already run.
- Set and connect: We set the new tank in place, hook up the water lines, gas or electrical, and tie into the existing venting or flue.
- Fill and startup: We fill the tank, bleed air from the lines, check every connection for leaks, and set the thermostat.
- Final checks: We check water temperature at a fixture, confirm the pressure relief valve discharges properly, and walk you through the shutoff.
When you need it
- The tank is leaking from the tank itself, not just a fitting.
- Hot water runs out faster than it used to.
- Water coming out has a rust tint to it.
- The tank is old enough that a repair isn't worth sinking money into.
What changes the job
Cost and time depend on where the tank sits and what we find once the old one's disconnected. A closet or attic install takes longer than a garage. If the new tank is a different size than the old one, the pan, strapping, or venting may need adjusting. Old gas or electrical connections sometimes need updating to work with the new unit.
